Local author, Jason Reynolds

Here's what DC writer Jason Reynolds plans to do: NOT WRITE BORING BOOKS. It's what he's committed to, because when he was growing up, he didn't like reading. He thought it was boring. Lots of reports say he was a reluctant reader, but in this interview, he points out that he wasn't really reluctant, It's simpler than that. He was not a reader. (Hmmm. Good writers are always careful when choosing their words, and he is very clear that that's the way he would say it.)

So, he's written a whole load of books that are NOT BORING. He's the current National Ambassador for Young People's Literature at the Library of Congress. And it's in that role that he's launching a program called Write. Right. Rite.
