Lots of you may have celebrated Passover or Western Easter in the last few days, and some of you may be looking ahead to celebrating Eastern Easter or Ramadan in the next week to 10 days. These are all major religious holidays for several major world religions. Whichever one your family may celebrate, I know it's special. So I wanted to post something special today. It's a classic story of connection and what it means to love and be loved, which seems to fit the theme of these holidays...and these days. Whether you've read it before, or this is the first time you'll be hearing it, I hope you like The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams. It's read by Kathleen Pelley, a wonderful author who visited Centaurs at Mann some years ago, to read The Giant King and Inventor McGregor. It's in 2 parts on this link, so be sure to start with part 1 of 2 (posted on April 9th, 2020; 16 minutes) and finish up with part 2 of 2 (posted on April 12th, 202; 12 minutes). And remember: When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.
And to go along with the podcast theme, which may help with limiting screen time, I've posted another fun children's podcast option in Featured Resources. Take a look below!
